These terms govern your use of GeoVerdict, an address validation and autocomplete API available at geoverdict.com. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
GeoVerdict is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY] ("GeoVerdict", "we", "us"), a company registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number [KVK NUMBER], with registered address [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. You can reach us at support@geoverdict.com.
2. The service
GeoVerdict provides an HTTP API for address validation and autocomplete, a web console at /dashboard, and an embeddable browser autocomplete widget. The API queries one or more third-party geocoding data sources and returns a normalized verdict (valid, correctable or invalid) with a confidence score.
Verdicts and confidence scores are our best automated assessment based on the data sources available at the time of the request. They are advisory. A "valid" verdict is not a guarantee that an address exists, is deliverable, or is current, and you remain responsible for decisions you make based on the results.
3. Accounts and keys
- An account is tied to one email address and is signed in with a one-time link or code sent to that address. Keep access to that mailbox secure.
- API keys, widget tokens and console sessions are credentials. Keep them confidential, do not embed server API keys in client-side code, and revoke any credential you believe has been exposed. You are responsible for activity under your credentials.
- The service is intended for business use. You confirm you are at least 18 years old and authorized to act for the organization you sign up for.
4. Plans, credits and payment
- The free plan includes a monthly credit allowance. Paid subscription plans include larger monthly allowances. One-time credit packs can be purchased on top of any plan.
- Each validation or autocomplete request consumes one credit per data source that returned an answer, with a minimum of one credit per uncached request. Responses served from cache consume no credits. Console and usage reads consume no credits.
- Monthly plan allowances reset on the first day of each calendar month (UTC) and unused monthly credits do not carry over. Purchased pack credits do not expire while your account is open and are consumed only after the monthly allowance. Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and lapse when the account is closed.
- When your available credits are exhausted, API requests are rejected until the next monthly reset or until you buy credits or upgrade.
- Payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe-hosted pages. We never receive your card details. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled; cancelling stops the next renewal and downgrades the account to the free plan at the end of the paid period.
- Prices are listed on the website and may change; changes to subscription pricing take effect at the next renewal after notice. Except where the law requires otherwise, fees are non-refundable.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the service for unlawful purposes or submit data you have no right to process;
- attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits or credit accounting, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without our prior written permission;
- use the service to build a bulk copy of the underlying data sources or a directly competing address database;
- resell raw API responses in a way that violates the license terms of the underlying data sources (see section 6);
- use widget tokens on origins you do not control;
- interfere with the service or impose an unreasonable load outside your credit allowance.
We may suspend access that we reasonably believe violates this section.
6. Third-party data sources
Results may include or be derived from third-party and public data, including the Dutch BAG register (Kadaster, via PDOK) and OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the ODbL). Your use of results must respect the attribution and license obligations of those sources where they apply. The set of sources in use is listed on the subprocessors page.
7. Your data
How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. For address data you submit through the API, you act as the data controller and we act as your processor under the Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of these terms. You warrant that you have a lawful basis for the data you submit.
8. Availability and support
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We aim for high availability but do not offer an uptime guarantee or service level agreement at this time. Current API status is shown on the status page. We may change or discontinue features, and where a change materially reduces the service we will give reasonable advance notice when practicable. Support is provided by email at support@geoverdict.com on a best-effort basis.
9. Intellectual property
The service, website, documentation and underlying software remain the property of GeoVerdict and its licensors. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the API and widget for your own business purposes for the duration of your account. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data or business interruption. Nothing in these terms limits liability for damage caused by our intent (opzet) or deliberate recklessness (bewuste roekeloosheid).
Address validation results are informational. You are responsible for how you use them, including any decision to accept, reject or modify an address.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the service at any time and can request account closure via support@geoverdict.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach of these terms, non-payment, abuse, or where required by law; where reasonable we will warn you first. Upon closure your API keys stop working and remaining credits lapse. Data handling after closure is described in the Privacy Policy and DPA.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes we will give notice by email or through the service before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. The date at the top of this page shows when the terms were last revised.
13. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted exclusively to the competent court of the district in which [LEGAL ENTITY] has its registered office, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
